American Sommelier offers a number of solutions for financing your education.

 

Financial Aid

American Sommelier offers Financial Aid in the form of Work Exchange on a case-by-case basis.

The Financial Aid Committee primarily considers financial need, though a demonstrated interested in the study of wine and motivation for taking the course may also be a determining factor. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply.

  • Most recent W2
  • Most recent Federal Tax Return
  • Most recent Paystub

Eligible applicants will be contacted for an interview, as a final step in the application process.

 

Payment Plans

When registering for a course, students have the option to pay tuition in full or in several installments.

There is a $50 financing fee for enrolling in the Payment Plan program, due up front.

Late payments are subject to a $50 late fee.

All students must provide a credit card number upon registration.

Students who fail to remit payment are not permitted to attend class.

 

FOUNDATION PAYMENT PLAN:

  • 50% tuition + $50 financing fee upon registration.
  • 50% tuition by class #3

VITI1 PAYMENT PLAN:

  •  50% tuition + $50 financing fee upon registration
  • 50% tuition by class #4

V&V and BLIND TASTING PAYMENT PLAN:

  • 50% tuition + $50 financing fee upon registration
  • 25% tuition by class #3
  • 25% tuition by class #6

 

Group Rates

Employers in the hospitality industry who would like to register multiple staff members for any of our courses are eligible for a group rate on tuition.

  • Enroll 3 students for a 5% discount on tuition
  • Enroll 4 students for a 10% discount on tuition
  • Enroll 5+ students for a 15% discount on tuition

Pourer Positions

We hire a small number of student helpers (pourers) for each of our courses. Pourers are responsible for arriving 30 minutes early to class for setup, pouring each flight of wine during the class, and staying afterwards to help clean up. At the end of the course session, pourers receive a 10% tuition reimbursement for each of the classes they assisted with. Please inquire about availability when registering.

 

Refunds & Deferrals

Tuition is non-refundable. Should you need to drop a course, you are entitled to re-enroll in a future session—beginning where you left off—within one calendar year of the start date of the original session.  Only students who have paid in full are entitled to this option.
