We believe that education is the key to acceptance, enjoyment, and appreciation. Our goal is to provide students with the tools that will enable them to be comfortable and confident with wine. Rather than providing opinions, we want to help students develop their own.
We are confident that you will enjoy our classes and want you to be comfortable with your decision to enroll at American Sommelier. For $50 prospective students are welcome to sit in on one class of their choosing (provided there is space) to experience first-hand what the course will be like. The $50 will be applied towards tuition should you enroll in the next section of the relevant course.
A gift set of wine glasses in a custom made carrying case are included in the price of tuition.
American Sommelier currently offers the following:
- Foundation (6 weeks)
- VITI1: Grape Mapping (10 weeks)
- Viticulture & Vinification (24 weeks)
- Viticulture & Vinification Immersion (6 days)
- Blind Tasting (16 weeks)
By 2015 our 24-week Viticulture & Vinification Course will be replaced by the VITI Series: VITI1, VITI2, and VITI3. Each section will cover wine theory and tastings in a graduated progression of complexity.
As a whole, the VITI Series will offer a more profound knowledge and understanding of viticulture & vinification, presenting the material in a sequence of manageable 10-week courses. We have carefully designed the VITI Series curriculum to maximize the student’s potential for comprehension, retention and overall success.
VITI2 is scheduled to be launched late in 2013, with VITI3 following in 2014.
