
Prize-winning pianist Elaine Kwon has performed solo, concerto, and chamber music concerts throughout the US and internationally. As soloist, she received standing ovations at her sold-out, Carnegie Hall debut concert at Weill Recital Hall as well as in her 2009/2010 solo concerto performances with the Slovak Sinfonietta, Toronto Philharmonia Orchestra, Finger Lakes Symphony and most recently with the New York Chamber Virtuosi at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall.
Elaine holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and is a Lecturer/Affiliated Artist in the Music Department at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she teaches piano and music theory.
Also an avid martial artist, Elaine has a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do (5- time US Nation Forms Champion) and currently studies Shaolin Kung Fu. She represented Nike in Asia ad campaigns and appeared in Vogue, Elle, Women’s Health and numerous other magazines, books, ads and videos. She has been a featured guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show and was honored as a 2008 Power Woman by New York Moves Magazine. A documentary of her life aired in Oct. 2010 on the TV series: Dream It: You Are the Next Generation, which was broadcast internationally to over 66 million households on Arirang TV. Elaine lives in New York City, where she continues to explore ways to combine and communicate her passion for music, martial arts, sports, travel, cooking and optimal living.
