Tom Gannon, current sommelier at Rothmann’s Steakhouse, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He moved to New York in 2001 and got a job at Fleur de Sel restaurant.

Tom intended to be a playwright so was interested in a bartender position to support his writing. But while there, his interest in wine was growing. Tom took the sommelier course at American Sommelier, and in 2002, began working as sommelier at Rothmann’s. Tom worked for a year as wine manager in New York for Atlantic Wines and Spirits before returning to Rothmann’s in 2006. Tom has completely revamped the steakhouse’s wine menu and introduced some wines not traditionally found in a steakhouse.

Tom competed in the 2009 Best Sommelier in America competition and is glad to be returning this year.
