Sydney Paris

sydneyparis

Sydney Paris has been focused on wine since he left his paper route at age 13. Though his first job was as a dishwasher he then spent nine years at college at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques and an MBA from London School of Economics. But after graduation and spending some time working in banking, Sydney began moonlighting as a Sommelier and has never left.

Sydney has Silver Service training and is currently working on his Master Sommelier. He has many memorable wine service experiences – the most recent was an event that required an all world food and wine tasting. Sydney thought the result of this collaboration with Prima’s chef was sublime, especially the 1964 Cuvee des Enchanteleurs, the 1961 Borgogno Barolo, the 1976 Erbacher Marcobrun Auslese Riesling and numerous 1978 Burgundys.

Some of Sydney’s all time favorite books include Atlas Shrugged, Anna Karenina, and Love in the Time of Cholera. He recommends regular reading of the Economist and Decanteur.
