Sheri Griffith Dague is a sommelier at Aureole in New York City, just south of the theater district. It is a fitting location for Sheri — prior to realizing her passion for wine, for 15 years Sheri was a professional singer, dancer (including five years as a Rockette), magician David Copperfield’s assistant for two years.
Sheri has completed three courses at American Sommelier and is passionate about the artistry of wine and sharing it with others. One of her most memorable wine service experiences was her opportunity to enjoy a 1970 Leoville Las Cases after the customer who ordered it left the bottle for her.
Her favorite wine region is Burgundy, so it is no surprise that Sheri is currently reading Clive Coates’ The Wines of Burgundy. Sheri also acknowledges that her favorite book ever was The Art of Raising a Puppy, which was incredibly helpful as she raised Lola, her Boston Terrier, now 8 years old.
Sheri is focused on sharing with others and is excited to compete in this year’s competition to continue to advance her knowledge and experience.
