Jessica Certo

jessica-certo

Jessica Certo was a professional opera singer before she began working as a sommelier last year. She credits her husband for introducing her to wine and food culture. She finds wine to be most exciting because it is ever-changing and forever reinventing itself.

Jessica believes strongly in the accessibility of wine for all, working hard to educate others. A lover of burgundy, Jessica is currently reading Noble Rot by William Echikson. She suggests study and drinking widely as the most important steps for those interested in learning more about the world of wine.

Jessica received her B.A. from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Music at Manhattan School of Music. Her own wine education includes American Sommelier’s classes in Viticulture & Vinification and Blind Tasting.

She counts her wedding – August 29, 2009 – as her favorite day. Her celebration included prosecco, pan-fried pierogis and cake, which, according to Jessica, it just doesn’t get any better than that.
