
Jared Fischer received a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Colorado in Denver. After heading to New York in 2004, Jared served as Wine Director/Sommelier at New York’s Thalassa and Compass Restaurants. In 2008, Jared opened Bussaco in Brooklyn with Master Sommelier Scott Carney. Jared developed the front of the house service standards and documentation and created a user-friendly, value-focused wine list. Since October 2009, Jared has been Sommelier and Director of Staff Education and Cellarmaster at Le Bernardin. Jared took the American Sommelier’s Viticulture and Vinification course in 2006 and since then has received an advanced certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers. He received first place at the Festival Sud de France 2009 competition and was the Advanced Sommelier Scholarship Recipient from Societe Mondalie du Vin. Jared also serves as an educator for American Sommelier.
