Giselle Hamburg remembers going to a winery in Chablis, France as a youth and tasting wine directly from the barrels. That experience was very memorable and was her early inspiration for her love of wine.
Giselle has been a sommelier for 6 years, a career that followed a professional music career that included performing in front of 50,000 people in Beijing China which was televised all over Asia. Giselle is currently a sommelier and assistant wine director at Mario Batalii and Joe Bastianich’s Port Chester restaurant Tarry Lodge. Giselle also works at Christie’s as a wine department assistant.
Her most memorable wine service experience was serving Hillary and Bill Clinton and recommending a wine that they were unfamiliar with but ultimately loved.
Giselle graduated from Tufts and has a second degree from the University of Paris. Giselle’s wine education includes a sommelier certificate from the Sommelier Society of America and a diploma and certificate from the International Wine Center.
