DLynn Proctor

dlynnproctor

DLynn Proctor, born and raised in Dallas, has been part of the restaurant world since high school. He got interested in wine while working as a server, and he maintains a strong belief in the service aspects inherent in the role of sommelier. DLynn received the Advanced Sommelier Diploma from the Court of Master Sommeliers on his first attempt, something only 3% of the candidates have ever done.

In October 2008, Wine & Spirits magazine named DLynn Best New Sommelier in America 2008. DLynn’s wine lists have been featured in Wine Spectator. DLynn is committed to Italian wines and has been sponsored by the Italian Chamber of Commerce at the Vin Italy expo for several years. Currently, DLynn serves as consulting sommelier for The Cedars Social.

His most memorable wine experience was serving as sommelier for the Thienponts in Toronto at the Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival and the opportunity to speak with 26 families about Vieux Chateau Certan and Le Pin. DLynn was the recipient of the first annual Cru Carneros Scholarship where he assisted in making the 2008 vintage at Clos du Val Winery and has been named a 2011 RUDD Scholar.

A member of the Texas Sommelier Association, Dlynn is also a member of the Guild of Sommeliers, Chaine des Rotisseurs and founded the Dallas Sommelier Group.
