Arnaud Devulder, sommelier at Le Bernardin, came to the United States from France twelve years ago. Born in Lille in the north of France, Arnaud planned to be a pastry chef and studied culinary arts in high school. He began working as a waiter at age 18 in Lyon.
Encouraged to move to the US, Arnaud was working at a French restaurant at Epcot Center when he tasted a 1996 Puligny Montrache, Premier Cru, Les Combettes, and his future in wine was set. Arnaud began working at Daniel and was trained by wine experts Jean-Luc Le Du and Philipe Marchal. Arnaud then went on to work at Café Boulud, db Brasserie, db Bistro Moderne, and Lever House before coming to Le Bernardin.
Arnaud studied at American Sommelier and has also taught a number of classes.
