Beer, Spirits, & Sake Instructor

Food and wine always held a place for Michael. He began his career life in the restaurant industry by working at La Mascotte for 1 ½ years. Then, he developed passion for wine by completing the American Sommelier Association certification course and working for a number of venues, such as La Caravelle, Fleur de Sel, and Strip House. Michael once served as the assistant Food & Beverage director of Areca, which is a 120-seat restaurant and 200 seat banquet facility located within a 4 star luxury housing complex on Long Island.
In September 2002, Michael participated and passed the Court of Master Sommelier’s Introductory Course, the first of three steps towards earning the coveted title of Master Sommelier. Then, he taught for the American Sommelier Association’s certificate class while serving on the Board of Governors for Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation.
As he was successfully qualified as a certified sommelier in the year of 2007, Michael spent his two years of career life with Bobby Flay. Later, he even took the lead of opening Fishtail by David Burke as GM and Wine Director and worked at BR Guest as Restaurant Manager and Wine Director. Finally in September 2010, we were more than happy to welcome MS to ‘21’.
